In the world of North German cheese manufacturing, Milram, a part of the DMK Group, is currently making headlines. The company, known for its popular cheese products, has recently unveiled a new packaging series, designed to increase attention in supermarkets and target younger audiences. However, this redesign has sparked a significant backlash, particularly in right-wing and conservative circles, with some accusing Milram of promoting "wokeness."

The new packaging features designs by three well-known artists and includes at least one person with dark skin on each package. The scenes depicted include loving couples, families on outings, and laughing friends, reflecting the diversity of society. The idea for this limited edition design was developed by the creative agency Jung von Matt.

Milram, however, has rejected these accusations, stating that the design is deliberately apolitical and is part of their brand value "Community." The company has also denounced the spread of discriminatory and racist content on certain internet forums related to their packaging.

The redesign has garnered both support and criticism on social media. A significant number of users have announced they will buy Milram cheese to support the new packaging, while others express incomprehension at the outrage. Film director Michael "Bully" Herbig, known for his support of the "woke movement," has praised the new packaging as a good thing.

On the other hand, the family policy spokesperson of the AfD state parliament in Lower Saxony has called for a boycott of Milram's products. This boycott, however, has not stopped the debate, with both positive and negative sentiments dominating social media. The debate is also accompanied by numerous memes making fun of the uproar.

Unfortunately, Milram's new packaging line is overshadowed by a separate issue: a concerning cheese recall at Rewe, with two people already having died. This incident has diverted attention away from the packaging controversy, leaving Milram to navigate both issues simultaneously.

As the debate continues, Milram remains committed to their apolitical stance and their goal of reflecting the diversity of society in their products. The company continues to interact with their community through a social media campaign, focusing on digital visibility and engagement.
