Chelsea ponders potential sale of Jackson.
In a surprising turn of events, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the loan transfer of young striker Nicolas Jackson. The deal comes after Chelsea withdrew its transfer veto following an injury to Liam Delap and the absence of Cole Palmer, which had initially prevented the loan agreement.
Jackson, who is currently in Munich, is expected to undergo a medical check and subsequently sign a contract with the German giants after the procedure. A picture of Jackson with his agents on their way to Munich has been circulating, suggesting that a deal is imminent.
The buyout clause for Jackson is said to be a hefty 65 million euros, indicating the high regard in which he is held by Chelsea. However, the initial loan deal, which was previously ruled out by Chelsea, has been approved by Bayern's supervisory board. A loan fee of 15 million euros, with an option to buy for the following season, has been agreed upon.
Bayern Munich is in need of reinforcements in the attack, with numerous departures leaving a gap in their squad. The club's sporting director, Max Eberl, has stated that they want to send Jackson back to Chelsea after the loan period, but Jackson himself is reportedly pushing for a move to the Bavarian club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is not ruling out the possibility of signing a striker before the transfer deadline on Monday. Talks between Chelsea officials and Jackson are scheduled for Sunday morning, providing more insight into the club's plans for the remainder of the transfer window.
