Chemistry Experiment Design Instruction: Insights from Imperial College London

In an exciting development, Imperial College London is integrating Design of Experiments (DoE) as a crucial skill in its graduate training programme. This essential skill is being championed by the Centre for Rapid Online Analysis of Reactions (Roar) at Imperial College, which is developing new approaches to train multidisciplinary chemists and engineers.

The Centre for Roar is proud to host a webinar sponsored by JMP, a leading software solution in the field of analytics, which has been a part of SAS since 1989. SAS, the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market, helps customers at more than 60,000 sites make better decisions faster.

The webinar, an hour long, will take place at Imperial College London and will feature two distinguished speakers: Ben Deadman and Volker Kraft. Ben Deadman, the facility manager of the Centre for Roar, brings 10 years of experience in reaction automation and reaction analysis to the table. Volker Kraft, a senior academic ambassador in the JMP academic team and a part of JMP's academic program, holds a PhD in electrical engineering and fosters and supports the use of JMP in teaching and research.

The purpose of the webinar is not explicitly stated, but it is safe to assume that it will focus on the application of Design of Experiments in the context of the Centre for Roar's research and teaching activities. The webinar is also significant as it marks a collaboration between the Centre for Roar at Imperial College, the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generation Synthesis & Reaction Technology (rEaCt) at Imperial College, and A*STAR in Singapore in related research and training activities led by Professor Mimi Hii.

Benjamin Valsler, the digital editor of our website magazine, will likely provide updates and coverage of this significant event. For those interested in attending, mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details about this exciting webinar.
