City authorities in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are planning to upgrade the park situated on Tsiolkovsky Avenue.
The city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has announced plans to transform a section of Prospect Cyolkovsky in the "Horizon" district into a park or square, following active discussions between residents and the regional governor.
Originally planned for residential construction by the company "New Regions", the site will now be reclassified as a "Publicly Used Green Area". This decision comes as part of a project aimed at creating a public recreation area on Prospect Cyolkovsky, with landscaping elements such as a children's playground.
The city administration is collaborating with "New Regions" to find an alternative land plot for residential construction. The alternative site, known as "Westfield Meadows", will be the focus of coordination meetings with nearby residents, scheduled for June 15, 2025.
The new homes, designed to be seismically resistant and safe, will not be built on the original site. The city administration is preparing necessary documentation for changes to the territorial planning documents, which will then be presented for public hearings.
After the documentation is complete, the changes will be coordinated with federal executive authorities in the Kamchatka region. The target date for completing all procedures is by the end of August 2025.
The city administration's focus remains on ensuring the creation of comfortable homes in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The new residential construction project aims to harmoniously fit into the city's architecture, with no specific details provided about the alternative land plot as of yet.
