Citywide Initiative - Summer Marketing Campaign Highlighting Our City's Attractions
From July 10, 2025, to August 14, 2025, the heart of our city will be transformed into a vibrant oasis as the "Into the Middle" project, a collaborative effort by citizens, artists, and the city, unfolds. The project aims to promote community gaming, foster mutual respect and unity, and make the public space newly experiential.
The action-packed festival kicks off on July 10, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm, with the first part of the event. A wooden hut will be permanently placed in the market square for catering and storage purposes, and mobile trees will be acquired to create a small green oasis.
From 17:00, children and family games will be available, providing fun for all ages. At 18:30, games for teens and adults will be introduced, ensuring there's something for everyone. The games offer will be diverse, catering to all age groups.
On July 19, 2025, a shared potluck on the market square will take place from 10 am to 2 pm. Everyone is invited to bring something delicious to share, making it a colourful and communal event. Individual retailers and gastronomes are welcome to join the events on the market square and offer their own services.
Music & interactive actions will be part of the event, with the first sing-along concert taking place on July 31, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm. Lyrics will be displayed on a large LCD screen, and the melodies will be familiar, promising an enjoyable evening for all.
The artsy side of the festival will be showcased through an open-air cinema (TV) around art & recycling, as well as an old car being transformed into a work of art. The Kulturscheune Fritzlar will partner with the project, bringing the original band Desperado Four to perform at the event.
For those who love to dance, the Salsa dance event is not to be missed. On July 24, 2025, the market square will transform into a large movement and participation area, with Hotel Scirocco providing cocktails and paella for the event. The event includes a dance workshop and Salsa music by DJ SINCO & DJ ZDEE.
Board games and large wooden games will be available for the public on August 7, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm. Visitors can bring their favourite old pieces to be redesigned, and Holzspiel Event will provide a variety of games.
The project aims to bring people together through singing, dancing, and shared meals, creating a pleasant atmosphere filled with music and good vibes. The event is free, without registration, and invites everyone - from children to seniors - to participate.
The "Into the Middle" project is more than just a festival; it's a celebration of community, creativity, and sustainability. Each week during the summer holidays, the city centre will offer diverse themes for all age groups, providing a reason to visit and enjoy the transformed public space.
