Citywide Skateboarding and Art Celebration: Seven Days of Creative Expression Through Skateboarding in the Urban Landscape
The city of Stuttgart is gearing up for an exciting week-long event as the SKTWK 2025, the largest skateboarding festival in Germany, takes place from September 10 to 14, 2025.
Organised by Leo Preisinger, the festival is supported by the Stuttgart City Council's Sports and Movement Office, as well as the Baden-Württemberg Foundation. The SKTWK 2025 promises a unique blend of skateboarding, art, and community, showcasing the artistic dimension of skate videos during the SKTWK Videonale.
The festival kicks off on Wednesday evening with the SKTWK Videonale, where selected skateboard video projects will be shown at the Württembergischer Kunstverein. This will be followed by a symbolic reopening of three benches in front of the Liederhalle, as skate stoppers are removed, allowing international skaters to demonstrate their skills.
Throughout the festival, skateboarding will be showcased at various locations in Stuttgart. On Friday evening, the market square will become a stage for skateboarding demonstrations. On Sunday, the U16 Contest will take place in Stuttpark Bad Cannstatt, featuring young skateboarding talents. The contest will include a skateboard flea market and a musical framework, providing an enjoyable atmosphere for all.
The grand finale of the festival will be the SKTWK Awards, which will take place on the grand staircase at the Schlossplatz on the final day. The Awards will honour outstanding tricks, films, and skaters, celebrating the best of the skateboarding community.
