Climate Protection Suggestions Abound on Environment Day
On September 20th, the town of Garbsen will be hosting the "Natürlich Garbsen – Der Umwelttag" (Naturally Garbsen – Environmental Day) at the city hall from 13:00 to 17:00. This event is open to the public and encourages participation from families, children, youth, and adults.
The day is filled with various interactive activities and informative sessions. Regional clubs, companies, and initiatives will present projects related to environmental, climate, and nature protection. A special feature is a virtual reality 3D experience about climate change, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the pressing environmental issues in an engaging way.
Admission to the Environmental Day is free, and there are plenty of free activities for all ages. Children can enjoy a free interactive VR experience and free face painting. For the adults, there will be a "Walk & Talk" titled "On the trail of fair trade coffee" at 11:00 a.m.
The Heidemost cider mill also offers a chance to make your own apple juice, with appointments available on the Heidemost website. For those interested, personal apple juice-making opportunities start from the end of August.
In addition, there will be a large waste collection action, with a draw for participants. To enter the draw, one must collect more than two kilograms or at least half a sack of waste. The prizes for the draw are worth up to 100 euros.
The event will be attended by various organisations such as the BUND of the region Hannover, the ADFC Garbsen/Seelze, the water association Garbsen - Neustadt, enercity, the network of the food council Hannover and region e.V., the Climate Protection Agency of the region Hannover, the steering group Fairtrade, and the Catholic community St. Raphael.
The Mayor of Garbsen, Claudio Provenzano, encourages attendance and participation, emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness and action. There are small surprises to be won throughout the day, such as at the environmental rally or at the wheel of fortune.
