In the past few days, several incidents have occurred in the towns of Cloppenburg and Lindern, prompting investigations by local authorities.
On Monday, between 6:00 PM and 7:30 AM, unknown perpetrators struck two vehicles in Cloppenburg. A multimedia device was stolen from a parked Skoda Yeti in Leipziger Straße, causing an estimated damage of €1,000.00. Similarly, in Rosengärten street, the infotainment system was stolen from a Skoda Kodiaq, also causing an estimated damage of €1,000.00.
Between the same hours, unknown individuals also vandalised a sports hall in Vahrener Straße, Cloppenburg, spraying graffiti on the doors and windows, causing damage estimated at €500.00. A school building in Lankumer Feldweg, Cloppenburg, also suffered similar damage, with the estimated cost standing at €2,000.00. However, the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a machine in Mühlenweg, Lindern, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, at 08:13 AM. The fire was extinguished by the volunteer fire department in Lindern, but the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire are currently unknown.
In a different development, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, at 2:29 PM, a 30-year-old man from Lastrup was driving under the influence of intoxicants in Straße Zum Brook. The individual, who tested positive for THC and amphetamines, was prohibited from continuing to drive, and a blood sample was taken.
