Asian Poker Tour Incheon: Main Event Heats Up at Paradise City Casino

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Incheon stop is in its final days, and the Main Event is gathering momentum at the Paradise City Casino. With a buy-in of KRW 2.5M (~$1,800), the tournament has attracted 692 players so far, spanning across two flights.

Day 1A saw Chi Hsiang Chiu take the chip lead, while Day 1B was dominated by Dixon Pang. However, the spotlight was stolen by Daming Kang, the winner of the APT Incheon Single Day High Roller event.

Kang's victory was not an easy one. He faced off against Punnat Punsri, a formidable opponent with over $25 million in live earnings, according to The Hendon Mob. Despite Punsri's impressive track record, Kang emerged victorious, doubling his live earnings in the process. This was Kang's first APT trophy, a significant milestone in his poker career.

Punsri, who previously won the Main Event in Taipei on the APT tour, was not disheartened by the loss. He boasts three other victories on the APT, four Triton titles, and three PGT wins. His career earnings now stand at over $26 million.

The Single Day High Roller event guarantee was set at KRW 1.5 billion (~$1M), and with Kang's win, the prize pool was distributed among the top players. The exact winner of the High Roller event, apart from Kang, remains unclear in the available search results.

After two flights, 89 players from Day 1A and 236 from Day 1B will return for Day 2 of the Main Event on Wednesday. The tournament will continue until Sunday, August 10, with 11 other events also running concurrently at the APT Incheon stop.

As the Main Event progresses, the competition is expected to heat up. With big names like Pang and Punsri leading their respective flights, the race for the top spot is far from over. Stay tuned for updates as the Asian Poker Tour Incheon reaches its thrilling conclusion.
