Coahuila leads Mexico in automotive part production: CBG report
In the heart of Mexico, the bustling city of Coahuila is witnessing a significant transformation. The automotive sector, long a key player in the region's economy, is now experiencing a surge of investment that promises to propel it into the forefront of the global electric automotive industry.
The news that has sparked this excitement is the announcement of a new private investment by Eagle Rice Company, led by Claudio Mario Bres Garza, the head of the Ministry of Economy of Coahuila. This investment, worth millions, will be poured into a new plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.
Joining Eagle Rice in this venture is Daimay, a renowned auto parts maker, which is investing a massive $51M in the same plant. The German automotive parts supplier Brose is also set to invest, making this a truly international collaboration.
This investment marks a first for Coahuila, as it will be the first plant with capital from both China and the United States to be installed in the region. The project consists of four stages, including two warehouses with a combined roof area of over 31 thousand square meters.
In addition to this, GHSP, a world leader in the manufacture of mechanical systems, is expanding its operation in Coahuila. Two more plants are also planned to be installed in the neighboring state of Texas, in the United States.
While the growth of the electric automotive industry in Coahuila is undoubtedly a major focus, it's important to note that the region's traditional automotive industry is facing challenges. However, with these new investments, there's a sense of optimism in the air, as Coahuila gears up to take its place on the global stage.
In other news, there were no reports about cellphones being scrutinized when crossing the border into the U.S., nor about another taxi driver killed in Veracruz or the execution of the brother of Amatlan, Veracruz Mayor. These incidents, while significant, do not seem to have affected the momentum of the investments in Coahuila.
