Holy Cross University's Delilahs A Cappella Group Shines in Valentine's Week

The Delilahs, Holy Cross University's all-girls a cappella group, have been making waves on campus this Valentine's week. Founded in 1993, the group has grown to become a beloved part of the university community, with members described as best friends and the group as awesome.

The Delilahs, currently run by Rea Nassif '24 and Mia Macdonald '24, rehearse tirelessly, dedicating over six hours a week to perfecting their harmonies, excluding performances. They make their arrangements from scratch, showcasing their dedication to the art of a cappella.

Last week, the Delilahs put on impromptu performances at Kimball Dining Hall in anticipation of Valentine's Day. They offered singing valentines, serenading students with a mix of popular tunes like Brittney Spears' "Toxic," Meghan Trainer's "Dear Future Husband," and Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You." One student was reportedly embarrassed but seemed to take it in good humour.

Sophie Robertson '25, a member of The Delilahs, shared her favourite class at Holy Cross remains unspecified. However, she was more than happy to share her love for music. Her favourite song is "Rich Girl" by Hall and Oates, and her favourite singer/group is John Mayer. Interestingly, her favourite colour is blue, and her favourite sports team is The Patriots.

The Delilahs will hold auditions at the beginning of the upcoming Fall semester, welcoming everyone to join. If you're looking to be a part of a dedicated, friendly, and musically talented group, then The Delilahs could be the perfect fit for you.

In addition to their regular rehearsals on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, The Delilahs can also be found performing every Monday at Cool Beans at 10 pm. Don't miss out on their energetic and harmonious performances!

The tradition of singing valentines has been a long-standing one for The Delilahs, adding a touch of music and laughter to the celebrations of love on campus. The group's contributions to the university community are a testament to their passion for music and their commitment to spreading joy.
