Collision in Heide: Vehicle involved in accident, sustains damage in discount parking lot, then is driven off
In the quiet town of Heide, a hit-and-run incident has caused quite a stir. At around 12:45 PM on Tuesday, a brown SUV, estimated to be around 70 to 75 years old and approximately 170 to 175 cm tall, collided with a dark grey VW Transporter T6 in the parking lot of a discount store on Meldorfer Street.
The owner of the VW Transporter T6, a 61-year-old woman, had parked her vehicle at the discount store at 12:25 PM. However, the driver of the brown SUV failed to stop and provide their details, as required by law.
The Heide Police Station has launched an investigation into the incident. The investigating authority for traffic accidents in Heide is the Polizeidirektion Itzehoe. No license plate number was noted from the brown SUV involved in the incident.
The police are urging the driver at fault, as well as any witnesses, to contact them at 0481 940 or via email at [email protected]. The right rear side of the brown SUV should have visible damage from the hit-and-run incident.
Interestingly, both the driver and the passenger in the brown SUV were seen shopping at the discount store before the incident. The driver is approximately 70 to 75 years old, around 170 to 175 cm tall, has short brown hair and a goatee. The passenger, also roughly the same age and height, has long hair down to the neck and was wearing grey clothing, like the driver.
The police are also appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or have any information about the brown SUV to come forward and contact them at the same number or email address.
As of now, the 61-year-old woman who owns the VW Transporter T6 has not yet contacted the police regarding the damage to her vehicle. It is hoped that with the public's help, the driver of the brown SUV will be identified and brought to justice.
