According to the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters, the accident was caused when a 54-year-old Toyota driver failed to notice the sudden braking of the Volkswagen ahead. As a result, the Toyota rear-ended the Volkswagen at a railway underpass with heavy traffic.
