Cologne Police Force Discontinues Its Presence at SPD Headquarters

In Cologne, a series of anti-militarist demonstrations have been taking place since the beginning of the week, organised by the coalition "Rheinmetall Entwaffnen". On August 29th, over 200 masked individuals blocked the entrance of the Deutz AG industrial site in the Kalk district, carrying banners with "anti-militaristic" slogans. The assembly failed to comply with assembly regulations, leading to its dispersal by police. No details were provided about any criminal complaints or proceedings initiated in connection with the Deutz AG industrial site assembly.

Simultaneously, in Bonn, around 30-40 individuals gathered outside Rheinmetal AG's Beuel branch with banners and flyers. No spokesperson was identified among the group, and they later boarded a regional train to Cologne.

On the same day, Cologne Police ended a squat at the SPD party office on Magnusstraße. Around 20 individuals entered the lobby of the office at 10 am and refused to leave, leading to a criminal complaint for trespassing. Police officers took down the details of the individuals, removed them from the premises, and initiated criminal proceedings. Three individuals resisted and were briefly detained before being released after identification and the initiation of criminal proceedings.

Investigations into violations of the Assembly Act have been initiated in light of current armament issues. The road closure on Dillenburger Straße has been fully lifted, and identification procedures for those present have been completed. No information was given about any damage or disturbance caused during the Deutz AG industrial site assembly or any legal actions taken against individuals from the Rheinmetall AG incident.

These events underscore the ongoing debates and protests surrounding armament issues in Germany, with groups like "Rheinmetall Entwaffnen" using peaceful demonstrations to voice their concerns. As the situation develops, further updates will be provided.
