Colorado's CRUSH 2017 webpages
In the heart of Denver, Colorado, from September 11-17, 2017, the River North Arts District (RiNo) played host to the seventh annual Colorado CRUSH event. This vibrant gathering showcased an array of graffiti and street art from artists hailing from various locations around the globe.
One of the event's highlights was the participation of Escape, a company with over 500 campervans cruising the roads of North America. These unique vehicles were given a creative twist as they were hand-painted by local artists in Los Angeles. One of these artists is Vyal One, a California street-art legend and a driving force in the graffiti art movement.
Vyal One has graced the Colorado CRUSH event multiple times, including in 2017. His work with Escape extends beyond the campervans, as he also collaborates with the local LA community to foster interest in the arts among children.
The campervans at Colorado CRUSH 2017 were the centrepiece of a design contest. The contest received numerous impressive submissions, with "Magical Oop" emerging as the randomly-chosen winner. The unicorn vibes were a significant aspect of "Magical Oop's" campervan design, adding a whimsical touch to the event.
The winners, Sylvie and Erin, were awarded a 3-night getaway in an Escape Mavericks campervan. They won this prize at the "Escape Mavericks Road Trip Giveaway" event. Participants at Colorado CRUSH 2017 were also encouraged to join future events through the email newsletter and social media.
Colorado CRUSH is not just a one-off event. It is an annual celebration of art that continues to grow and evolve, attracting both local and international artists. As the event enters its eighth year, it promises to bring more colour, creativity, and campervans to the streets of Denver.
