Combatant Cayetano Rivera makes a comeback in the arena following a two-month break
In the heart of Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, the bullring was abuzz with excitement as Cayetano Rivera, 'El Fandi', made his long-awaited return after a two-month absence due to a foot injury suffered in July.
Rivera's return was somewhat overshadowed by recent media attention, including an incident with the police in a Madrid fast-food restaurant and a photograph with a young woman in a Sotogrande restaurant. However, upon arrival, the people's affection for Rivera was evident, as he expressed being "very happy."
Minutes before entering the ring, Rivera seemed nervous and declined to answer press questions. Despite his nerves, Rivera attended to his fans and signed autographs for the attendees.
In the bullfight, Rivera shared the ring with David Fandila 'El Fandi' and Antonio Linares. The bull named "Devoto" was Rivera's opponent in his last bullfighting appearance. The results of the bullfight and the performance of the three matadors were not reported.
Rivera, along with Fandila and Linares, were carried out of the bullring on the shoulders of the crowd, a testament to the adoration they continue to receive.
Cayetano Rivera, in the final stages of his career as a bullfighter, still has several performances ahead despite announcing the end of his career in November 2024. However, no further information was provided about the exact date of the bullfight or the outcome of the press conference minutes before the bullfight.
Despite the media attention surrounding him, Rivera's return to the bullring was a reminder of his enduring passion for the art of bullfighting and the love he continues to receive from his fans.
