Comic Convention in Long Beach Reboots under Novel Direction
The Long Beach Comic Con is making a comeback this Labor Day weekend, after a hiatus, under new management. ReedPop, a well-known organiser in the comic convention scene, has taken over from Martha Donato, who founded and launched the event sixteen years ago.
MAD Event Management will remain involved with the convention, but as a minor partner moving forward. Ben Penrod, owner and operator of Nerd Street, currently runs the show.
This year's event promises to be an exciting one, with up to forty-five celebrity guests set to attend. Over fifty cosplayers of all ages will compete in various costume categories, and the Cosplay Contest, one of the most celebrated components of Long Beach Comic Con, will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 5:00 PM PST.
Up to sixty-nine exhibitors will be on the showroom floor, offering a wide range of comic books, toys, and merchandise for fans to purchase. Show hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST on Saturday and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST on Sunday.
While San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is happening soon, tickets have been sold out for months. However, for those looking for a comic convention experience this summer, there is still an opportunity. Jon is going on his first SDCC adventure this summer, while Fan X Salt Lake Comic Convention is scheduled to take place at the Salt Palace Convention Center from September 5th to 7th. Tickets for Fan X are still available for purchase.
