Commemorating a quarter-century, children and families rejoice in festivities
On Sunday, 21st September 2025, the Bschütt Park in Passau will transform into a hub of family fun and adventure. The Children's and Family Festival, organised by the city of Passau and the city youth council, will be celebrating its 25th edition under the theme "Design das Kindere Festival der Zukunft".
From 11 am to 5 pm, the entire park will be dedicated to a wide range of attractive leisure activities for children and families. The festival will feature various creative, movement, and play activities, ensuring a day filled with fun for all ages.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the Bobby car races, where children can showcase their racing skills. For the younger ones, there will be a merry-go-round, face painting, and a teddy clinic. Participants can also make their own dream catchers and self-made games.
In addition to these activities, a vehicle show, a boat trip on the Ilz, and a performance by the FFW Ilzstadt are also part of the festival programme. Numerous institutions from the city of Passau will present themselves with their own stands, and various performances are scheduled throughout the day. The Kindergarde Grubweg, the dance school Some Simple Steps, the boxing club Passau, the magicians Frants, and the Freudenhain Big Band will also perform. The music school MusiX will perform with their "wild ones".
To make it easier for visitors to attend, a free shuttle bus will operate, stopping at the bike tunnel, the car park under the Schanzl bridge/Upper Danube, and the Lindau stop. An on-demand stop has been set up at the car park under the Schanzl bridge/Upper Danube for the festival.
In case of bad weather, updates will be provided on the city of Passau's website or social media channels. Food and drinks will be provided on the festival grounds. The Youth Sports Taster Day "U Move" will occur the day before, on Saturday, 20th September 2025, also in the Bschütt Park.
The fire brigade will demonstrate a grease fire simulation, adding a touch of education and safety awareness to the festivities.
