In a series of investigations, the Criminal Investigation Department 13 (Robbery) in Mönchengladbach has made significant progress in a string of high-profile cases. On August 9, 2025, three heavily armed men robbed a jeweler on Bismarckstraße, and the police have since arrested a third suspect in connection with the case.

The investigations began on Monday, July 8, 2024, when the department reviewed four cases: two robberies, a theft, and an armed robbery of high-value wristwatches. A closer examination of the cases revealed some striking similarities. In all cases, the perpetrators engaged the victims in conversations as a pretext before resorting to violence to obtain their loot.

Detectives found the suspects through a combination of investigative techniques. Photos of the suspects led them to locate the individuals in the Hofgarten. The arrests took place there on a specific date, though the exact details have not been disclosed.

The suspects, a 44-year-old Moroccan and a 33-year-old Belgian, have been temporarily apprehended. Among the robbers' possessions at the time of their arrest was a Rolex watch, the owner of which will be determined through further investigations.

The large sum of cash found on the robbers will also be traced as part of the ongoing investigations. The suspects will be brought before a judge to face charges related to the crimes they are accused of.

The arrests mark a significant step forward in the investigations, providing much-needed closure for the victims and the community. The public is encouraged to continue providing any information that may assist the police in their ongoing investigations.
