Concern escalates for Rampage Jackson following violent attack by son Raja on wrestler Syko Stu
In a shocking turn of events, Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, has been suspended following an alleged assault on professional wrestler Stuart Smith (also known as "Syko Stu") during a match at the KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles.
The incident, which was streamed live on Kick, has left the wrestling community and fans in disbelief. KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy, the organiser of the academy where the incident took place, has released a statement condemning Jackson's actions and apologising to its fans.
According to the statement, the planned and agreed-upon wrestling spot turned into a violent act by Raja Jackson. He is reported to have slamming Stuart Smith to the mat before punching him several times in the head while the wrestler was motionless on the canvas. The assault resulted in injury to Smith.
Raja Jackson, who is an MMA fighter, not a professional wrestler, was allegedly told that he could get his "payback" in the ring, believing it was part of the show. However, his actions have been described as "egregious" and "never should have occurred" by the statement from KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy.
Rampage Jackson, the father of Raja, addressed the incident on social media early Sunday, expressing his deep concern about his son's health and the well-being of Stuart Smith. He also apologised on his son's behalf and to KICK for the situation.
The statement from KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy also expressed concern for Stuart Smith's wellbeing, stating that he is receiving the necessary medical attention. The incident, in the 17 years of operation of KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, has never been anything as heinous take place such as this, according to the statement.
The footage of the fight is disturbing and may not be suitable for some viewers. Raja Jackson's actions are causing concern for his son's well-being and potential career in MMA.
Rampage Jackson does not condone his son's actions in the incident. The statement from KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy stated that Raja Jackson suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business engaging in physical contact.
As the investigation continues, the wrestling community awaits updates on the well-being of both Raja Jackson and Stuart Smith, and the consequences for the actions taken by Raja during the match.
