Concerts by Coldplay at Wembley Stadium are being moved due to upcoming Tube strikes.
Coldplay has announced the rescheduling of the final two dates of their 10-show run at Wembley Stadium, London. The industrial action on the London Underground from September 5 to September 12, 2022, has made it impossible for fans to get to and from the venue safely.
The concerts on September 7 and 8 cannot be held as planned due to the lack of an event licence because of the strike action. The band's statement mentioned that without a Tube service, it's impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely.
The shows on September 30, October 1, September 3, and 4 will go ahead as scheduled. Coldplay's Wembley run will see them become the first act to play 10 dates at the national football stadium in the same year, breaking the record previously held by Taylor Swift and Take That.
The rescheduled dates are as follows: the show on September 7 will now take place on September 6, and the show on September 8 will be held on September 12. Fans unable to attend the rescheduled show can get a full refund on their ticket before noon on September 2. Tickets for the rescheduled dates will remain valid.
Coldplay has rescheduled these dates as part of their eco-friendly Music Of The Spheres world tour. The band, fronted by Chris Martin, who formed in 1997, is best known for songs such as Yellow, Fix You, A Sky Full Of Stars, and Viva La Vida.
The band has achieved two UK number one singles and 10 UK number one albums. Additionally, 10% of the band's proceeds from the Wembley shows will be donated to the Music Venue Trust. Coldplay has expressed their apologies for the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling.
No further details about the new dates for the rescheduled concerts have been provided at this time. Returned tickets will go on general sale at 11am on September 3 via Ticketmaster.
