The Australian automotive market is about to witness a new entrant, as Kia Australia unveils its Tasman dual-cab ute. This new offering marks Kia's foray into Australia's competitive utility segment, setting its sights on dual-cab heavyweights like the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, and Isuzu D-Max.

Designed specifically for Australian and New Zealand conditions, the Tasman dual-cab ute has undergone rigorous local testing to ensure it can handle various conditions, from harsh outback tracks to urban commuting. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine and rides on a ladder-frame chassis, providing the robustness required for Australian terrain.

The Tasman dual-cab ute offers six trim levels, catering to a wide range of budgets. The entry-level S model with a 4x2 drivetrain starts at $46,490 drive-away, while the S 4x4 trim is priced at $53,890. The mid-range SX and SX+ 4x4 trims are priced at $58,490 and $66,490 respectively. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, the rugged X-Line and flagship X-Pro trims are offered at $70,990 and $77,990 drive-away respectively.

Four-wheel-drive variants of the Tasman dual-cab ute offer additional features such as low-range gearing and locking differentials, enhancing its off-road capabilities. Higher trims also include a digital instrument cluster, durable yet stylish interior materials, a large infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging.

Kia Australia expects strong interest in the Tasman dual-cab ute, with pre-orders already underway and deliveries set to begin in the second half of 2025. Today's drive-away figures provide a clearer picture for customers as it prepares to enter showrooms, offering Australian drivers a new choice in the utility segment.
