Conflict Erupts: Physical Altercations, Verbal Abuse, and Acts of Resistance Reported in BPOLI MD
In a disturbing incident, an 81-year-old German man was assaulted in a snack bar at Magdeburg Central Station on August 21, 2025. The assault was perpetrated by a 26-year-old and another individual aged 25.
According to reports, the 26-year-old struck the elderly man twice in the head and spat at him. The 25-year-old, who was uncooperative and aggressive towards the officers, refused to comply with their instructions and even attempted to reach for an officer's service weapon, but was prevented from doing so.
Fortunately, federal police officers were quick to respond. They located and detained both individuals in the area of Cologne Square. The officers filed criminal charges for insult, bodily harm, and resistance to law enforcement against both individuals.
Breath alcohol tests showed readings of 0.52 for the 81-year-old, 0.85 for the 25-year-old, and 1.05 for the 26-year-old.
