Conflict Has Erupted Between West and Russia - Official Information Yet to Break

In a recent interview on the "Doc Malik" podcast, British Member of Parliament Andrew Bridgen asserted that the West is effectively at war with Russia in Ukraine, despite media reporting to the contrary.

Bridgen's statement comes amidst ongoing international support for Ukraine, with NATO nations and EU countries providing advanced defense weapons, tanks, air defense systems, and fighter jets to Ukraine for self-defense. The United States, supported financially by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, has been supplying air defense missiles, while Germany has provided tanks like Leopard 2 and Leopard 1, and countries like Poland and Slovakia have provided MiG-29 fighter jets. The Netherlands and Denmark are preparing to supply F-16 fighter jets.

However, it's important to note that no official policy has been confirmed that allows Ukraine to freely attack Russian territory. The support is officially for Ukraine’s self-defense and sovereignty, and there is ongoing international discussion about lifting restrictions on Ukrainian use of Western-supplied weapons, but no concrete decisions have been made.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with The Economist on May 24, 2024, called for allowing Ukraine to use their weapons systems to freely strike within Russia. His call was met with condemnation from the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, who posted her criticism on her Telegram channel.

Bridgen compared the situation to the Cuban Missile Crisis, stating that America did not allow the old Soviet Union to put missiles in Cuba 90 miles off the Florida coast. He also claimed that there are U.S., UK, French forces in Ukraine, a statement that was not verified in the provided information.

Interestingly, Bridgen stated that he met with Andrei Kelin, the Russian ambassador in London, a couple of months ago. Kelin reportedly told Bridgen that Russia knows Western forces are firing Storm Shadow missiles at them from Ukraine.

Bridgen's remarks about Western leaders not informing their citizens about the war with Russia echoed a sentiment he had expressed earlier. However, it's crucial to note that this claim was not substantiated in the given information.
