In Charlottenburg, Berlin, last night, a hate crime-based assault took place at an arcade on Joachimsthaler Straße. The incident involved a 43-year-old man who is now under investigation for his actions.

According to reports, the 43-year-old man was involved in an argument with a group of teenagers. The altercation escalated when the man asked one of the teenagers about his nationality and then proceeded to punch him in the face. The victim, a 19-year-old, suffered a bruise but did not require medical attention.

The 43-year-old man is likely to face charges of assault and hate speech. However, the exact charges have not been disclosed at this time. It is also unclear whether anyone else was involved in the physical altercation aside from the 43-year-old man and the 19-year-old.

One of the teenagers in the group had reportedly insulted the 43-year-old man prior to the assault. The nationality of the 19-year-old has not been disclosed. The 19-year-old's current status is also unknown, as is the whereabouts of the 43-year-old man.

A voluntary breathalyzer test on the 43-year-old showed a result of approximately 2.2 per mil, suggesting that he may have been under the influence at the time of the incident. The State Protection division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has taken over further investigations.

It is important to note that hate crimes have no place in our society. This incident serves as a reminder of the need for respect and understanding in our interactions with one another. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help bring the perpetrator to justice.
