Conflict over Divine Authority in the Western World
In a concerning turn of events, various Western nations have been waging a spiritual war against churches and congregations during the "Reign of COVID Terror." This assault on religious freedom has been observed in countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States, and most of Europe.
One of the most prominent cases is that of Pastor James Coates in Canada, who had a confrontation with authorities in 2021 for holding church services during the pandemic. Across the Atlantic, Pastor Artur Pawlowski in the United Kingdom faced similar challenges, with his "crime" being defiance of Canadian officials and holding church services during the same period. Both pastors have been repeatedly arrested for their actions.
The situation is not limited to North America. In Finland, Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen is facing criminal "hate speech" charges for quoting the Bible. The Finnish authorities demand that she hide her faith, which is equivalent to demanding that she no longer be a practicing Christian.
The United States has not been immune to this trend. American leftists, including President Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland, have targeted pro-life Americans who pray near abortion clinics. Meanwhile, Marxist saboteurs in the United States have understood for over a century that the only way to deprive Americans of their inalienable liberties is to first separate them from God.
The hostility towards biblical teachings and discrimination against Christians is not confined to the United States. The book "The Strange Death of Europe" by Douglas Murray highlights this issue in Europe, where Christians are regularly demonized as being "fascist" or "far-right." European nations, including France and Germany, have purged religious teachings and moral education from public schools and ostracized true believers.
It's important to remember that the United States was founded on the principles that all people possess God-given rights and that legitimate government exists only with the continuing consent of the people. The Declaration of Independence, the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights all encourage the American people to construct forms of government that secure their freedoms and God's blessings.
However, Marxists have used litigation and cultural revolution to attack Christianity and remove it from the public square. They promote widespread loneliness, moral decay, replacement of strong families with welfare handouts, enfeeblement of young adults, and the promotion of "transgender" madness and sexual promiscuity at early ages.
The image accompanying this article is a depiction of the arrest of Arthur Pawlowski on a Calgary highway, a stark reminder of the ongoing persecution of Christians in Western societies. As we move forward, it is crucial to stand together in defence of our religious freedoms and ensure that the principles upon which our nations were founded are not forgotten.
