The Annopol I wind farm, sponsored by the international power producer OX2, has secured financing of EUR 90 million, marking a significant step forward in increasing renewable energy in Poland's energy mix.
The successful completion of the financing demonstrates the effectiveness of close cooperation between banks, sponsors, and legal advisors in making ambitious renewable energy investments a reality. Global law firm X played a pivotal role in this project, advising PKO Bank Polski on the financing of the Annopol I onshore wind farm.
Located in the Gościeradów municipality, Lubelskie Voivodship, the wind farm will have a total capacity of 40 MW. OX2, which has been accelerating the energy transition since 2004, offers end-to-end solutions, from planning and construction to sale and operation. As of the present, OX2's project portfolio totals 25,526 MW in various stages of development, spanning nine markets and contributing to a more sustainable society.
The Annopol I wind farm transaction involved various financing facilities and a complex, multi-jurisdictional structure. A multidisciplinary team from X worked under the supervision of energy and project finance partner Tomasz Rogalski. Tomasz led the finance workstream, with assistance from associate Karolina Lepakiewicz, lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski, and associate Jakub Wiatrzyk.
Counsel Krzysztof Gorzelak and lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski advised on the hedging aspects of the project.
