Construction mishaps occur at a building site on highway B4 close to Bad Harzburg
Over the weekend, two hit-and-run accidents occurred on the federal highway B4 between Bad Harzburg and Torfhaus, causing concerns about safety in the construction zone.
On Sunday morning, August 22 at 10:00 AM, a car driver heading towards Torfhaus was involved in a hit-and-run accident near the construction site at Bastesiedlung. The driver damaged two illuminated warning cones in the accident and fled the scene without identifying themselves. The police found vehicle parts as clues, but the driver remains unknown.
The Braunlage police station is investigating this incident, and they reported on the accident on Sunday.
A second hit-and-run accident occurred over the weekend at the same construction site on the federal highway B4. The car driver involved in this accident also did not report the incident and fled the scene. Both hit-and-run accidents involved damage to illuminated warning cones.
The altered traffic management in the area of the Bastesiedlung led to these incidents. The Braunlage police station is also investigating the second hit-and-run accident.
The hit-and-run accidents occurred on consecutive days, with the first one happening on August 22nd at around 10:00 AM. The accidents occurred near Bad Harzburg and Torfhaus on the federal highway B4, and they have raised concerns about the safety of the construction zone.
The police are urging anyone with information about either of the hit-and-run accidents to come forward and contact the Braunlage police station. They are working diligently to identify the perpetrators and ensure that justice is served.
