Construction of a bridge on the A1 highway, located near Leverkusen, has received official approval

The first new motorway bridge in the replacement of the old A1-Rhein bridge in Leverkusen, the "K 35" structure, will be opened to traffic on Monday. This 350-meter long bridge leads directly from both directions of the A1 to Leverkusen-Middle, eliminating the detour via the Leverkusen-Rheindorf junction that has been necessary during construction works.

The responsible company for the new construction of the two new motorway bridges at the old A1 Rhine Bridge in Leverkusen is Autobahn GmbH. They managed the replacement and expansion to accommodate increased traffic volume, including the building of the two new bridges replacing the old one. The second new motorway bridge is being built after the demolition of the old one.

The opening of the "K 35" structure marks the completion of the first new motorway bridge in the replacement of the old A1-Rhein bridge in Leverkusen. However, the initial opening was delayed due to preparatory work for the construction of bridge pillars for the second section of the new Leverkusen Rhine bridge.

The second section of the new Leverkusen Rhine bridge is currently under construction. Once completed, it will further improve traffic flow in the area. The new Leverkusen Rhine bridge, consisting of two new motorway bridges, will provide a smoother and more efficient route for commuters and travellers.

The opening of the new bridge will occur during the day. The exact time has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be a significant event in the Leverkusen transportation infrastructure. The first new bridge was opened at the beginning of 2024, and the completion of the second bridge will further enhance the city's connectivity.

The new bridge structure on the A1 at the Leverkusen-West motorway interchange is a testament to the commitment to modernising and upgrading the city's infrastructure. The new Leverkusen Rhine bridge, with its two new motorway bridges, will undoubtedly contribute to the city's growth and development in the coming years.
