Construction of modules commenced for approximately forty children
In the heart of Marburg's Cappel district, between Reinhardswaldstraße and Burgwaldstraße, along Moischter Straße, preparations are underway for a new six-group kindergarten. This interim solution is being constructed on the Bolzplatz, the soccer field in Cappel, to address the demand for childcare places in the southern district.
The city council has decided to build the interim building before the new building for the former Kita Goldberg is completed. Earthworks with excavators and trucks are set to begin in the coming weeks, with gravel cushions being created as a base for angle stones.
The construction process includes a pull test for the interim building's stability, which has already been carried out. By mid-September, screw foundations are scheduled to be installed. Once these are in place, the steel modules of the interim building will be set up on the site in Cappel by the end of the fourth quarter.
The total cost for the interim building is approximately 1.7 million euros. If soil conditions allow, screw foundations may be reused when the modules are rebuilt. The steel modules can be dismantled and reassembled at another location once the new building is ready for occupancy.
The interim building could be completed by the end of the year, assuming a smooth construction process. This temporary solution will accommodate two kindergarten groups from the former Kita Goldberg, who have been temporarily housed in the old town hall and the former Kita Am Teich due to various defects and space constraints.
