Construction site robbery: suspect apprehended at a construction site in the northern district, armed with weapons
A man was caught stealing cables on Tuesday, September 25, at around 2:20 AM in the Setterich district. The unidentified 45-year-old individual was apprehended by a security employee after being spotted on a construction site at Hauptstraße/Bahnstraße.
The man was temporarily held by the security employee until the police arrived. According to the man, he intended to sell the stolen cables to fund his drug addiction.
Upon their arrival, the police found cables, a backpack, and two bags containing cables, as well as a saber and a dagger on the man. The damage caused by cutting the cables on the construction site is estimated to be in the five-figure range.
