Construction sites in Caaschwitz and Bad Köstritz: Containers dismantled
In the quiet town of Caaschwitz, Gera, and Bad Köstritz, a series of unusual incidents have occurred. Between 26.08. and 27.08.2025, unknown individuals broke into five construction containers on a site in Elsterstraße, Caaschwitz, and four containers in Hergerstraße, Bad Köstritz.
The Gera Police are currently investigating these incidents as cases of aggravated theft. No stolen goods were found at the Hergerstraße site, but various tools were collected at a storage location there. In contrast, stolen goods from the Elsterstraße site include tools and two bags of returnable bottles, with an estimated value in the mid-three-digit range.
Damage caused at both sites is estimated to be in the low four-digit amount. The damage to the containers in Elsterstraße is likely to reach a four-digit amount, while the damage in Hergerstraße is still being assessed.
