In the city of Detmold, a new service has been launched to assist parents and guardians in navigating the complex healthcare system and provide early support for their children. The guide service, operated by the "Familienservice Detmold," is now available in three pediatric practices and two gynecological practices.
Dr. Natalie Hellermann from the pediatric practice at the Medicum Detmold has shown her support for this initiative. She recognises the value of the service in relieving medical staff and strengthening the health literacy of families, especially in challenging situations.
Mayor Frank Hilker has praised the successful implementation of the guide service, emphasising the importance of supporting children and young people in their development. He applauded the service for its potential to make a significant difference in the lives of families in Detmold.
The guide service is overseen by the family guide, Friederike Müller, who has already assisted over 100 families since its launch in 2022. For appointments, families can email procedure-guide@our website or call 05231 977 107.
The city portal also offers procedure guides for families of children with (potential) disabilities. For inquiries about the city portal, Daniela Lang can be reached via email at 05231 977 201.
This service aims to provide families with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their children's health. By empowering families with health literacy, the guide service hopes to create a more supportive and understanding healthcare environment for all.
The guide service is just one of the many initiatives in Detmold aimed at supporting families and children. As the city continues to grow and develop, it is clear that the well-being of its youngest residents remains a top priority.
