In the Elizovo region, a 45-year-old local resident has been sentenced to 1.5 years of corrective labor for committing a crime under Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (fraud). The case, which came to light in 2024, involved the renting out of an apartment that the woman no longer owned.

The woman initially contacted a potential tenant regarding a rental apartment she had seen in an online advertisement. She offered the apartment for rent, requesting a deposit of 10,000 rubles. However, the apartment in question had already been sold at the time of the transaction.

The victim reported the incident to law enforcement after the woman stopped communicating. During the investigation, evidence was gathered confirming the fraud committed by the woman. The money received from the victim was not used for the intended purpose of renting the apartment.

The court's decision was based on the review of all case materials. The court found the woman guilty of renting out an apartment she no longer owned, and ordered that a portion of her wages be withheld in favor of the state as part of her sentence. The court has ordered that 5% of her wages be withheld.

The name of the woman convicted in this case is not publicly available. Her actions led to suspicions being raised, highlighting the importance of due diligence when renting property. The court's ruling serves as a reminder that such fraudulent activities will not be tolerated.
