Copper cable theft investigators require eyewitnesses to come forward

The Gelsenkirchen Police Duty Desk is appealing for witnesses following a break-in at the vacant buildings of Zeche Westerholt on Egonstraße in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel. Unknown suspects gained unauthorized and forceful entry into the buildings from Wednesday, 09.04., at 22:15, until Friday, 11.04.2025, at 11:00.

During their entry, the suspects damaged a roller door, two steel doors, and a container. The perpetrators stayed in the building for an extended period and stole copper cables from transformers, valued at approximately €15,000-20,000.

The police are seeking witnesses who may have seen or heard suspicious persons or vehicles in the relevant time frame.
