Crane Site Damage Caused by Vandalism: Lift Impacted

The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden has issued a press release regarding a significant incident that occurred in June. Vandalism caused severe damage to the automatic doors of a barrier-free elevator located in the Kransand area, near the Rhine and the Brückenkopf transport hub.

The elevator, commissioned in August 2024, offers a significant advantage for boarding and disembarking at the bus stop "Mainz-Kastel Bridgehead". It connects the Kransand area with the traffic junction at the bridgehead, providing a direct, barrier-free connection. This feature is particularly beneficial for people with mobility restrictions.

The responsible institution for the operation of this elevator is the local municipal transport authority. For more information, visitors can refer to the press office's website at www.wiesbaden.de. The press office can also be contacted at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden.

The repair of the damaged automatic doors is expected to take approximately twelve weeks, with repair costs amounting to around 6,000 euros. Unfortunately, the operation of the elevator is technically not possible during the repair period.

As of now, no information about the elevator's current status or any repairs has been provided. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

We hope that the necessary repairs will be completed soon, and the elevator will once again provide a valuable service to the community.
