This has resulted in disappearances and executions, and individuals are threatened not to file complaints about these incidents. Officials from regional Prosecutor's Offices have been implicated in this crime, retaining vehicles for extended periods.

Elsewhere in Mexico, the municipality of Aguililla in Michoacán is dominated by the Sangre Nueva Zeta and the CJNG. These cartels have extended their network into agriculture, trying to persuade residents to cultivate drugs.
