In the heart of Düsseldorf, a mystery has unfolded. A 70-year-old resident returned home around 11 pm on Monday to find his black Mercedes GLC with the license plate "D-FC 8010" missing from his garage entrance.

The car, equipped with a KeylessGo function, was parked there at 6 pm the same day. According to the Düsseldorf Police, the vehicle was tracked using a vehicle app to have been driven over 55 kilometers.

The police suspect that the theft may have been perpetrated using specialized radio technology to intercept the original key's signals. This is an unusual method, intended to hinder potential thieves from intercepting car key signals.

As of now, there is no publicly available information about who stole the vehicle or when the crime likely took place. The Düsseldorf Police are urging anyone with information to contact Kriminalkommissariat 33 of the Düsseldorf Police under the number 0211/870.

In light of this incident, the Düsseldorf Police advise car owners with Keyless-Go functionality to store their keys in a metal box to prevent any unauthorised signal interception.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Stay vigilant and keep your vehicles secure.
