Criminals Infiltrate Commercial Property: Half Dozen Suspects Detained
In the early hours of July 23, an alarm was triggered at a company building on Hähnflingstraße in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. A witness reported seeing an unknown individual attempting to break into the building, and the suspect fled the scene upon being noticed.
The suspect made his escape in an Opel Zafira, which had a Polish license plate. The witness followed the suspect and provided the control center with his current location near Theodor-Storm-Straße. The responding officers intercepted the Opel Zafira at this location, where they found six male individuals in addition to the suspect.
All occupants of the vehicle, including the suspect, were Romanian nationals with no fixed address in Germany. The ages of the other male individuals were 15, 16, 17, 19, and 19. The police have initiated investigations for suspected aggravated theft, and the Opel Zafira was seized by the authorities.
Inside the Opel Zafira, burglary tools were found. However, these tools were confirmed to have been legally purchased from a hardware store, as evidenced by a receipt.
The investigation is ongoing, and the search results do not provide information about which group presumably committed a carjacking crime near Theodor-Storm-Straße in Mülheim an der Ruhr on the morning of July 24. The police have temporarily detained all occupants of the Opel Zafira in connection with the break-in attempt.
