Crowds flock to Westfield as it welcomes its 4 millionth guest
The Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, a significant development in Hamburg's HafenCity, has been realised by the French investor Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, who invested around 2.5 billion euros in the construction of 14 buildings.
This expansive project encompasses various uses on one area, including hotels, a shopping center, cruise terminals, leisure and fitness facilities, apartments, and office spaces. Currently, the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier hosts 132 stores, 40 restaurants and cafes, and a Kinopolis cinema, attracting around 4 million visitors since its opening in April 2025.
The Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is home to three Accor hotels and 579 apartments. In August, two new additions, Marc Cain and KJ Adventure World, are scheduled to join the centre, further enhancing the shopping and leisure experiences.
In the coming year, the restaurant "Elemente" and the "Air Bar 13" are set to join the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, offering even more dining options for visitors.
The development also includes two mooring places for cruise ships, expected to go into operation soon on the southern side of the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. This addition is projected to attract an annual visitor count of 16.2 million.
