Crystal Palace Thrashes Aston Villa 3-0: Guehi Scores Spectacular Goal Amidst Rumors of Liverpool Transfer

Crystal Palace hand Aston Villa a 3-0 loss with Guehi scoring a standout goal, amid discussions about a potential move to Liverpool.

In a thrilling encounter at Villa Park, Crystal Palace clinched their first win of the 2025-26 Premier League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over struggling Aston Villa. This win extends Palace's unbeaten run across all competitions to an impressive 14 matches, setting a new record for the longest unbeaten run as a top-flight team in the club's history.

The game started off on a high note for Palace, with Jean-Philippe Mateta converting a penalty in the 21st minute to give the visitors an early lead. The goal came after Marco Bizot tripped Daichi Kamada, leading to the spot-kick.

Aston Villa responded bravely, with Ollie Watkins coming close just before half-time, but his effort was saved by Dean Henderson. The home team continued to push for an equaliser in the second half, improving in the final third, but they were unable to find a breakthrough.

The game took a turn in the 68th minute when Marc Guehi scored the winning goal for Palace. Guehi, who has been in fine form this season, curled a finish into the top-right corner, adding to his tally of seven Premier League goals. Six of these goals have been scored away from home, making him a threat on the road.

The third goal came late in the game, courtesy of Jefferson Lerma's long throw-in, which was flicked on by Maxence Lacroix, setting up Ismaila Sarr for the final strike.

The result keeps Palace unbeaten in their first three games of the season and moves them up to eighth place in the early-season standings. It also marks a significant blow for Aston Villa, who are currently languishing in 19th place on just one point.

Despite the loss, there has been no indication of a coaching change at Aston Villa, with Oliver Glasner still in charge of Crystal Palace. The new coach for Aston Villa remains to be seen.

This impressive victory will give Crystal Palace a boost of confidence as they continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League. Their next fixture is against Leeds United, a game that promises to be another exciting encounter.
