Current Police Reports from Police Station Stendal
In the small town of Tangermünde, a 16-year-old driver found themselves at the centre of a traffic incident on Bismarck Street. The teen was behind the wheel of a Simson moped, but a breathalyzer test during a traffic stop revealed a reading of 1.16 per mille, leading to a criminal proceeding against the young driver.
Meanwhile, on the B189 towards Stendal, a serious traffic accident occurred near Groß Schwechten. A 71-year-old driver was at the wheel of an Opel car and sustained serious injuries. The accident involved two cars, and the elderly driver was airlifted to a hospital. Three other individuals also sustained minor injuries in the incident. As a result, the B189 was fully closed for approximately three hours.
Elsewhere, another collision occurred on the L30/A14, involving a 49-year-old and a 20-year-old driver. The younger driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while the older driver was unharmed. Three of the five vehicles involved in the accident had to be towed by a tow truck company.
Unfortunately, a separate incident occurred on the A14 near Lüderitz on August 17, 2025, at 13:05. A grassy area along the highway caught fire, and the cause remains under investigation. The criminal police have initiated fire investigations regarding the incident, but no responsible party has been publicly identified. Damage from the fire is estimated to be in the mid-five-figure range.
These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. As always, the authorities urge drivers to prioritise the safety of themselves and others on the road.
