Buenos Aires 2025 Provincial Elections: Candidates and Voting Information
The provincial elections in Buenos Aires, scheduled for 2025, are heating up with a variety of candidates vying for key positions. Here's a rundown of the main parties and their candidates for the governorship, as well as some important voting information.
The Frente de Todos, a centre-left political coalition, has put forward Victoria Tolosa Paz as their candidate for governor. On the other hand, Juntos, a centrist party, has nominated Diego Santilli for the position. The libertarian-conservative La Libertad Avanza has nominated Javier Milei, who is expected to attend the libertarian bunker in La Plata later in the day.
In the race for the governorship, there are also other candidates including those from the New MAS (María Petraglia, Lucas Correa, Andrea Núñez, Alejandro Lach, Marina Alonso, Victor De Rossi, M. Elena Rodríguez, Luca Vázquez), Construction Porvenir (Monica Iserte, César Purulla, Erika Matta, Víctor Quipildor, Monica Cañete, Marcos Klein Vitale, Sabrina Balsamo), the Libertarian Party (Sergio Palahy, Andrea Martínez, Agustín Rau, Adriana G. Rossetti, Pedro G. Pagnanelli, Eliana Matko, Alejandro P. Atamaniuk, Betiana Trevisan), and the Valley Republicans (Pablo K. Cabrera, Claudia Rivero, Alejandro Cordera, Yésica Gutiérrez, Walter Frías, Florencia Álvarez, Fabián Kipper, Luciana Enrique).
Polling stations opened at 8 am and will close at 6 pm. Those who are already in line within the establishment or its surroundings, waiting to cast their vote, at 6 pm will have their right to vote guaranteed. The results of the elections will be announced from 21:00. The link for following the official publication of the Buenos Aires 2025 election results will be available from 9 PM or when 30% of the tables have been counted.
The electoral ban remains until three hours after the closure of the polls, so it is lifted officially at 9 PM. The municipalities in the second electoral section are Arrecifes, Baradero, Capitán Sarmiento, Carmen de Areco, Colón, Exaltación de la Cruz, Pergamino, Ramallo, Rojas, Salto, San Andrés de Giles, San Antonio de Areco, San Nicolás, San Pedro, and Zárate. The second electoral section ballot consists of 15 municipalities and over 600,000 voters. The first electoral section is composed of 24 municipalities and approximately 4,600,000 voters.
In the race for the provincial deputies, there are several candidates including Time for All (Guillermo Vidal, Cristina Colombini, Alejandro Groglio, Silvia Colombini, César Mercado, Epifanía Domínguez, Carlos Rithaud, Carina Chávez) and others yet to be announced.
