Customs Awareness Day in Magdeburg and Halle (Saale) during the autumn break in Saxony-Anhalt
The Main Customs Office in Magdeburg is set to host a Zollinfotag (Customs Information Day) for the first time in October 2025, aiming to introduce the customs office as an attractive employer. The event will take place on two separate days: October 16 in Halle (Saale) and October 23 in Magdeburg-Rothensee.
The Main Customs Office, located at Ihleburger Straße 4, 39126 Magdeburg, is a key part of the business area of the Federal Ministry of Finance and is subject to the General Customs Directorate. In 2024, the office collected approximately 1.9 billion euros in taxes and duties, processed around 241,000 customs declarations, and seized over 700,000 cigarettes and 390 kg of illegal fireworks. Moreover, it uncovered approximately 14.2 million euros in damage caused by black work.
The Zollinfotag will provide an opportunity for students to gain insights into various departments, including Financial Control Black Work, Customs Office, Customs Investigation, Control Unit Traffic Routes, Examination Service, and Revenue Collection department. Students will be divided into small groups to get to know the different departments and learn about the profession, training, and dual study opportunities for customs officers.
All students who have at least an intermediate school leaving certificate or a school leaving certificate (at least intermediate) are welcome to apply.
