Daily Schedule for 'Tour dementia' Action: Details of activities for families and affected individuals
On September 17, 2025, Bergisch Gladbach will host an action day dedicated to the important issue of Dementia. This day promises a diverse programme, attracting a wide range of participants.
The action day will kick off with various information booths on the Market Square from 2:30 PM, offering valuable resources and materials for those interested. The City Library will also have an information booth and interactive activities related to a media exhibition on the topic of dementia, which will run from September 15-27.
For those seeking a more immersive experience, a guided tour titled "With all senses" will take place at Villa Zanders at 4:00 PM. This tour will focus on the encounter with selected artworks of the exhibition "Eckart Hahn: Papiertiger". Registration for this event is required by September 15, 2025. Following the tour, a dance offer "In rhythm of memory" for people with and without dementia will take place at Villa Zanders.
Two informative lectures are scheduled for the day. Nicole Sutschet, police chief inspector and traffic safety advisor of the accident prevention, will give a lecture on "Driving with dementia - assistance for relatives and interested parties" at the Volkshochschule Bergisch Gladbach. Meanwhile, Claudia Freudenberger from the guardianship office of the city of Bergisch Gladbach will discuss "Legal representation options in dementia - legal guardianship is good, power of attorney is better" at the DRK Refrather Treff.
The Aging Support Office and Care Counseling Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis will also be present, offering consultation and information. The Guardianship office will provide consultation on powers of attorney and precautions.
The event is in conjunction with World Alzheimer's Day and includes a bike tour, the "Tour Demenz". Radwerk (Caritas) will accompany the bike group of the Regional Office for Aging, Care, and Dementia Bergisches Land. ADFC Rhein-Berg will offer an E-tandem for attendees to try out.
"The Radiance of Age" portrait photos from the encounter centres of Caritas RheinBerg will be displayed on the Market Square from 2:30 PM.
