Controversy Continues at Dairy Farm in Bad Grönenbach
The dairy farm in Bad Grönenbach, which made headlines in 2019 as part of the Allgäu animal protection scandal, finds itself once again under scrutiny. The regional court of Ravensburg is currently investigating the animal welfare investigator from SOKO Tierschutz regarding documents detailing abuse incidents at the farm.
The investigation has left animal protection advocates bewildered. Friedrich Mülln, a prominent voice in the animal rights community, has expressed concern that this investigation could be a means to silence those who fight against animal abusers.
The allegations against the farm manager in Unterallgäu district are severe. According to the animal rights organization SOKO Tierschutz, undercover investigations in both 2019 and 2025 uncovered evidence of violations of animal protection regulations. These violations include the use of unauthorized electric prods on cows, unsafely transporting animals, and performing medical procedures without anesthesia.
This is not the first time that KBLV, another animal rights organization, has taken action against farms in the Unterallgäu district. This is the second ban on keeping animals issued by KBLV in connection with the allegations against this farm. Four other proceedings for bans on keeping and caring for animals are still pending, including one against the owner of the farm.
The Memmingen public prosecutor's office is also investigating the undercover investigator of SOKO Animal Protection in relation to these investigations.
As the investigation continues, the future of the dairy farm in Bad Grönenbach remains uncertain. The public will be closely watching the developments, hoping for a resolution that upholds the welfare of the animals involved.
