Danube-Arena in Regensburg adopted a cashless payment system.

The Ice Bears Regensburg, a popular ice hockey team based in Bavaria, Germany, are set to introduce a new cashless payment system for their home games starting from the 2025/26 season. The new system, developed in collaboration with Stadtwerk.Arenen, the operator of the Donau-Arena, and caterer Party-Engel, aims to speed up service, particularly during breaks and just before the event starts.

According to Operations Manager Peter Lautenschlager, the new system will allow for faster processing of orders, enhancing the overall experience for fans attending Ice Bears Regensburg games. The company PayOne organized the introduction of the cashless payment system with Stadtwerk.Arenen for the Eisbären Regensburg in September 2025.

It's important to note that this new system will not affect Public Skating events at the "Ice Angel". Guests at these events can continue to pay by cash. The Ice Bears Regensburg's home game for the 2025/26 season opener is scheduled for September 13 at 3 pm, to be held at the Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena.

The new payment system at the Ice Bears Regensburg's home games excludes cash transactions, except during Public Skating at the "Ice Angel". This initiative is part of a broader speed-up service initiative at the Ice Bears Regensburg's home games, which is not applicable to Public Skating events at the "Ice Angel".

The new system is intended to streamline service at the Ice Bears Regensburg's events, providing a more efficient and seamless experience for fans. The collaboration between Stadtwerk.Arenen and caterer Party-Engel underscores the team's commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing the fan experience.
