Danube-Arena in Regensburg adopts cashless transactions as the primary method of payment.
In an exciting development for fans and visitors, Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena has introduced a new payment system for ice hockey games, concerts, and shows. This innovative system, developed in collaboration with caterer Party-Engel, is designed to streamline transactions and speed up service.
Operations Manager Peter Lautenschlager of Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena confirmed that the new system is intended to enhance the overall experience by reducing wait times, particularly during breaks or just before events start.
The new system eliminates the need to give change, a move that is expected to significantly speed up service. However, it is important to note that the system's status as a permanent or temporary measure has not been specified.
From the 2025/26 season onwards, snacks and drinks at Ice Bears Regensburg games, concerts, or shows at Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena will only be available without cash. The Ice Bears Regensburg will kick off their 2025/26 season preparation with a home game on September 13 at 3 PM.
Interestingly, the new system does not apply to Public Skating in the "Ice Angel". Guests can still pay by cash in this area, and the new payment system does not affect the cash payment option.
It is worth noting that, at present, the new payment system has not been confirmed to be adopted by other venues or events. The home game of the Ice Bears Regensburg will take place at Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena, marking the first opportunity for fans to experience the new system.
The new payment system is a significant step forward in enhancing the service experience at Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena, and fans are eagerly anticipating its implementation. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
