Deadly automobile collision in Emsdetten on Sunday night, confirmed by Polish authorities
In Steinfurt, Germany, a traffic accident involving an Opel Agila and a Golf Plus occurred on Sunday, 16th of March, near Ahlintel 39 on Borghorster Straße.
According to the information transmitted by Steinfurt Police via news aktuell, the Opel Agila was driven by a 63-year-old Emsdetten resident, who had a 63-year-old male passenger also from Emsdetten. The Golf Plus was driven by a 55-year-old woman from Aschaffenburg, Bavaria.
The accident happened when the Emsdetten resident attempted to turn right into a field path and slowed down. However, the woman from Bavaria failed to notice and collided into the Opel Agila at full speed.
Both Emsdetten residents were severely injured and had to be extricated from the car by rescue services. They were subsequently transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, the Golf Plus driver remained unharmed.
Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy, and it is estimated that the property damage amounts to 18,000 euros.
