Fatal Traffic Accident on Federal Highway 76 Near Dodauer Forest
A tragic incident occurred on August 28, 2025, on federal highway 76 near Dodauer Forest. The accident involved a tractor with a trailer and a Ford car, resulting in the death of the young driver of the Ford, aged 21, and significant damage to both vehicles.
The accident took place around 5:30 PM, prompting an immediate response from emergency services, including police, fire departments, ambulance, and a rescue helicopter doctor. The tractor caught fire following the collision, completely destroying it, while the Ford sustained severe front-end damage, resulting in a total loss.
The road was cordoned off, and traffic was diverted as a company was called to excavate contaminated soil next to the road due to spilled fuel. The condition of the road surface was also checked by the road maintenance department.
The young driver of the tractor, aged 17, sustained minor injuries and was able to escape the burning vehicle. Staff from the emergency psychological service were on hand to support first responders and emergency services.
The investigation into the exact circumstances and cause of the accident is being carried out by the police in Eutin. An expert was called to the scene in the evening to determine the exact cause of the accident. Both the burned-out tractor and the Ford were seized for further investigation.
